Adobe Firefly's Quick Cut helps creators turn raw footage into a first video draft with AI
Adobe is launching Quick Cut for its Firefly video editor, aiming to help content creators assemble videos quickly from their own footage or generated clips. Quick Cut addresses a frequent pain point by enabling users to upload b-roll or generate new footage, and then instantly transform these materials into a structured first edit, eliminating the challenge of starting from an empty timeline.
Building on this automated start, Quick Cut offers a narrative-first assembly using a description supplied by the user. Additional customization options include providing a shot list or script for more precise edits, and making initial choices such as selecting aspect ratio, setting automatic pacing or a specific duration, and adding a B-roll track to keep supporting footage organized.
These new features are designed to give editors a clear starting point for shaping, refining, and personalizing their videos. By automating the initial cut, Quick Cut reduces the time spent manually stitching together clips, allowing creators to focus more on aspects like story, strategy, and narrative development.
