Pangram Image 1.0 adds heatmaps and video AI detection

Pangram has released Pangram Image 1.0, adding heatmaps that localize suspected AI-generated areas in images and lowering its minimum image size to 256x256 pixels.

The company also introduced Pangram Image Flash 1.0 for AI video detection, with native video uploads and frame-by-frame analysis.

Its Chrome extension now uses Image 1.0 to flag AI-generated content while browsing, and the updated API supports image and video detection.

I find the heatmap feature particularly interesting. Instead of simply labeling an entire image as AI-generated, being able to see which parts are suspicious could actually be useful. Video detection is a nice addition too, especially with so much AI content appearing online. My only concern is still accuracy. I wouldn't want a real photo or video to be incorrectly flagged as AI-generated. Hopefully, Pangram handles those cases carefully.
