PrivacyNotes adds Ninja quick-add, calendar, Kanban boards, and wellness tracking

AlternativeTo is excited to highlight PrivacyNotes, our official partner, which has been rolling out an impressive suite of productivity enhancements since joining our platform.

Headlining the update is Ninja (Cmd+K), a versatile command box that transforms plain-language inputs into actionable tasks: type “+Dentist fri 3pm 1h before” and it instantly creates a calendar event with a reminder one hour before. Beyond smart task creation, Ninja serves as a universal launcher for commands and theme switching, making PrivacyNotes feel more like an intelligent workspace than a simple note-taking app. PrivacyNotes is open source, and your notes are encrypted on your device, ensuring all this power comes without compromising user privacy or data security.

The platform now also includes full-featured calendar support with day, week, and month views, plus seamless import options from Google Calendar, .ics files, and webcal links. Creative professionals will appreciate Kanban boards and table formulas embedded directly in notes, all while maintaining plain Markdown compatibility for cross-app portability.

There are also new daily check-in and statistics modules offering mood tracking with visual insights into what improves your mood or brings it down over time, along with a full medication tracker featuring scheduling, dose reminders that keep medication names private, and adherence statistics.Spaces let users cleanly separate personal and work, and themes let you create your own color scheme or choose one from the community. Additional tools like the web clipper, note history, connections, footnotes, expiring links, and privacy controls, including screen capture hiding and optional 2FA, round out what’s quickly becoming one of the most comprehensive secure note solutions on the market.

PrivacyNotes is currently available on iOS via the App Store, with a Google Play release coming soon. Android users can already download the APK directly from its official website or install it through Zapstore and Obtainium. With its growing set of features and focus on privacy and security, PrivacyNotes is quickly becoming one of the newest and most interesting options for anyone looking for a fully featured, secure productivity workspace, and exactly the kind of independent software we want to bring more attention to, so if you haven’t tried it yet, it’s definitely worth checking out!
