Google opens SynthID Detector for global AI media checks

Google has made SynthID Detector available globally in English, allowing anyone to check supported images, video, and audio files for AI-generated content. The tool detects SynthID watermarks from Google and participating partners, including OpenAI, NVIDIA, Kakao, and soon Apple.

Google says it has watermarked more than 180 billion images and videos, plus 240,000 years of audio, since launching SynthID in 2023.
