Vivaldi 7.8 adds flexible tab tiling, improved pinned tabs, and daily start page images

Vivaldi 7.8 delivers major enhancements to tab tiling, making it easier to organize, compare, and work in parallel across multiple tabs. Users can now create flexible tile layouts above, below, side-by-side, or in grid arrangements simply by dragging tabs into the main content window. Once set up, these tiled layouts allow for easy rearrangement, resizing, and on-the-fly addition of new tabs. While managing tabs, users may also open links directly into a tiled view, maintaining both their original context and visibility of the new content.

Following these tab improvements, Vivaldi further strengthens session control with domain-restricted pinned tabs. This ensures, for example, that a pinned mail or project tool tab remains focused and stationary throughout use. Extending this focus, Vivaldi Mail tabs that are pinned now stay pinned across all workspaces, and Vivaldi Mail is now available in every open browser window.

Building on the user interface experience, the start page features a new daily image option, updating automatically with high-quality Unsplash photography. Additional updates include overall stability improvements, caret browsing as a dedicated setting for keyboard users, and a smoother installer process for Windows.
