OpenAI GPT-5-Codex launches in public preview for GitHub Copilot users

OpenAI's GPT-5-Codex model is now rolling out in public preview for GitHub Copilot users, including Pro, Pro+, Business, and Enterprise plans. The model can be selected within the Copilot Chat picker in Visual Studio Code starting from version 1.104.1.

Administrators must enable GPT-5-Codex policy for Enterprise and Business plans, while Pro users can activate it in the model picker.
