OBS Studio 32.0 released with new basic plugin manager, NVIDIA RTX improvements, and more
OBS Studio 32.0 is now available as the latest release of this free, open source live-streaming and screen recording software. Leading this update, OBS Studio now has its own plugin manager, simplifying extension installation and management. However, this initial version offers only basic functionality.
Building on broader usability, users on Windows and macOS can now enable opt-in automatic crash log uploads to streamline troubleshooting. Several enhancements target NVIDIA RTX users. Voice Activity Detection has been added to NVIDIA RTX Audio Effects, bringing improved speech noise suppression and further optimizations. A new chair removal option for NVIDIA RTX Background Removal lets users erase chairs from the video background, particularly helping live-streamers on platforms like Twitch, YouTube, and Kick.
For Apple users, this release delivers an experimental Metal renderer on Apple Silicon Macs, aiming for smoother native performance. Expanding media compatibility, hybrid MOV support adds ProRes recording on macOS and introduces a more broadly supported HEVC or H.264 with PCM audio container across all major platforms.
In addition to these central updates, many further improvements and bug fixes are found in the full release notes.
