Immich 1.143 brings configurable backup settings, concurrent hashing and download progress
Immich 1.143 is now available as the latest update for this open source, self-hosted photo and video management solution. This release introduces major performance improvements in the client-side hashing process, which now operates concurrently. As a result, throughput is significantly higher and is limited mainly by how quickly files can be read from internal storage. The system has also been update to only hash assets from albums selected for backup, reducing unnecessary downloads for users relying on iCloud.
Additionally, new backup settings now let users restrict uploads to times when a device is charging or after a specific amount of time has elapsed, providing more granular control over backup scheduling. The web version now features updated switches and toggles that now use Material 3 design principles. Users of the mobile app will notice a built-in progress indicator, making download progress immediately visible while files transfer to their device.
Recent bug fixes address stability, resolving previous issues that caused web freezes after modal dialogs and mobile app errors where thumbnails stopped loading until a forced close. Additionally, copying images to the clipboard now works reliably in Safari, expanding browser compatibility.
