Dropbox will discontinue its Paper mobile app for iOS and Android next month
Dropbox has announced it will discontinue the Dropbox Paper mobile app for both iOS and Android effective October 9, 2025, to focus resources on its core co-editing platform. As a result, the mobile app will be removed from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store after this date and will no longer receive updates. While the app may remain installed on users' devices, some features will stop working. To help users avoid confusion, Dropbox recommends deleting the Paper mobile app after this date.
Following these changes, Dropbox Paper will remain accessible through any web browser. Users can continue creating and editing documents by logging into Paper online across all their devices. Additionally, Paper files will stay stored and secured in each user's Dropbox account, with accessibility unchanged. Users are assured there will be no disruptions to their data or file access.
Alongside the mobile shutdown, Dropbox is also ending the beta Dropbox Paper desktop app on October 9, 2025. Users who relied on this beta desktop app should switch to the web version for uninterrupted service.
