Organic Maps now displays popular hiking and cycling routes from all over the world

Organic Maps, the open source offline navigation app, has released a major update featuring several data and usability improvements. The app now displays hiking and cycling routes globally, based on updated OpenStreetMap data. Following these additions, agricultural and forestry roads are excluded from routing, making routes more relevant for everyday travel. Users will also notice that bookmark names are now displayed directly on the map for faster identification.

Alongside data improvements, the update addresses track recording reliability by fixing missing start and end points. On iOS, the release enhances iCloud synchronization stability, supports multi-line bookmark titles, and resolves notable issues.

Android users gain a track elevation graph, track selection on the map, and upgraded graphics support through OpenGL ES 3.0. The update also allows submission of OpenStreetMap notes for new points of interest not yet supported in Organic Maps. Additionally, style and icon updates refine the overall appearance of maps and interface for all users.
