DocumentDB becomes Linux Foundation project under open source MIT license

DocumentDB has joined the Linux Foundation as an open source project licensed under MIT. The database, launched by Microsoft earlier in the year, has rapidly built a user base with over 2,000 GitHub stars and hundreds of community contributions. DocumentDB aims to establish a vendor-neutral, developer-first standard for NoSQL databases while maintaining its commitment to openness, PostgreSQL extensibility, and full MongoDB driver compatibility.
