Karakeep 0.26 released with user management, server improvements, and search suggestions

Karakeep 0.26 brings major updates to this open source, self-hostable bookmark manager with AI-based automatic tagging and full text search. Security and usability have been expanded with a new user management and authentication system. Users benefit from email verification for new registrations, password reset options, a user invitation workflow, and revised sign-in and sign-up pages that improve the onboarding experience. Storage quotas can now be set per user, and a delete account feature is available for users who want to remove their data.

Following these updates, server administrators gain S3 storage support for storing assets, Prometheus endpoints for monitoring system statistics, and optional API rate limiting to help manage resource usage. Large HTML content is now stored in asset storage rather than the database, improving performance. The release also allows enabling Write-Ahead Logging (WAL) on the database and configuring parallelism for worker processes.

Building on usability changes, Karakeep now provides search suggestions based on individual search history, Markdown file upload capability, a detailed user stats dashboard, an enhanced reader mode with font customization, proxy support for crawler network requests, and improved support for Reddit crawling. The update also delivers various user experience improvements and bug fixes.
