The AI app-building platform GitHub Spark is now public preview for Copilot+ Pro users
The AI-powered app-building platform GitHub Spark, developed by GitHub, is now available in public preview for Copilot+ Pro subscribers, delivering new "vibe coding" tools for building micro apps without manual coding. Originally announced at GitHub’s Universe conference in October 2024, Spark lets users build applications using natural language prompts. Instead of generating code directly, Spark produces an interactive visual preview of each app, which can be further refined through additional prompts or graphical user interface controls, pretty similar to other alternatives such as Lovable, v0 by Vercel or Firebase Studio.
Users can request 3 to 6 layout variations, each offering distinct design options for quick iteration. Projects can be adjusted using on-screen controls or by editing code directly within the GitHub interface. Spark also supports one-click deployment and collaboration with Copilot agents.
It integrates AI models from OpenAI and Meta, with no need for separate API keys. Copilot+ Pro users are allotted 375 prompts per month, with subscriptions priced at $39/month or $390/year. Access to Spark is currently limited to Copilot+ Pro subscribers, though GitHub plans to expand availability in the future.
