AWS to launch AI Agent Marketplace with Anthropic at July Summit

According to Techcrunch, Amazon Web Services is planning to launch an AI agent marketplace on July 15 during its AWS Summit in New York City, with Anthropic as a key partner. The move puts AWS in direct competition with Google Cloud, Microsoft, Salesforce, and ServiceNow, which already offer similar platforms for enterprise AI agents.

The new marketplace will let startups offer their AI agents directly to AWS customers, while enterprises can browse, search, and install agents from a centralized hub. The pricing model resembles SaaS marketplaces, allowing startups to charge for individual agents, with AWS taking only a small share of the revenue.

Anthropic, already supported by Amazon and reportedly set to receive another multibillion-dollar investment, is positioned to benefit significantly. The marketplace could increase adoption of its agents and API, which developers can use to build their own agent-driven tools.
