Windsurf Editor Wave 10 wraps up with Europe cluster and Cascade metric upgrade
Windsurf Editor’s Wave 10 concludes with its third and final update, building on previous additions like Planning Mode and the Windsurf's built-in Browser. As part of this release, a new Europe cluster has been launched in Frankfurt, Germany, offering full data sovereignty and compliance with EU regulations for enterprise users. The cluster is fully operational with Windsurf Editor and plugins, though some features may roll out later than in the US. Over 100 large European enterprises are already supported.
The Percentage of Code Written (PCW) metric now includes Cascade edits, extending beyond earlier tracking of Tab-based suggestions. PCW measures character-level attribution between AI and human input, accounting for both edits and deletions, and offers a consistent productivity proxy for teams evaluating AI contributions.
User experience improvements include refreshed visuals for Cascade’s code citations, file pointers, and file-type icons, along with syntax highlighting that aligns with Windsurf theming. The Cascade terminal now supports interactive commands, and users can browse past conversations without leaving the current chat. Legacy chat mode has been fully removed in favor of the now-standard Write and Chat modes.
