Steam adds searchable accessibility features to store and individual game pages
After first announcing it two months ago, Steam has launched a new update that makes information about accessibility features much more visible across its store. Users can now filter and search for games by specific accessibility attributes such as adjustable text sizes, subtitle options, color alternatives, narrated game menus, custom volume controls, speech-to-text, and text-to-speech support.
This update surfaces accessibility feature information not only in search results but also on the right side of each individual game’s store page, aiming to help players more easily discover games that meet their needs.
Following extensive collaboration with developers and players with disabilities, more than 5,000 titles have already listed their detailed accessibility support. More developers are participating daily, expanding the range of games available with these features. These changes are designed to enable users to quickly locate titles with necessary support options and navigate the store more effectively.
