Claude adds app builder within the chatbot with natural-language coding and live preview
Anthropic has introduced a beta feature that lets users build AI-powered apps directly within the Claude AI interface. By describing an app in natural language, Claude generates the code, making it easier to prototype and develop new tools. The feature builds on the existing Artifacts system which allows users to view and interact with Claude-generated content, adding a live preview window where users can interact with and iterate on their applications in real time.
The new interface supports rapid, experiment-driven workflows and allows built apps to communicate with Claude via API. Advanced users have created multi-step agent workflows, games, learning tools, writing assistants, and data analysis apps using this system. This new tool reflects Anthropic’s push toward vibe coding, enabling fast prototyping similar to other alternatives like Lovable, v0 by Vercel, or Firebase Studio.
The app builder is available across Free, Pro, and Max plans. When shared, app usage is counted against the end user’s API quota rather than the creator’s.
