Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 debuts AI-powered Lightspeed, post-quantum security and more

Red Hat has released Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, with emphasis on artificial intelligence and security for hybrid IT environment. The update includes Red Hat Enterprise Linux Lightspeed, a command-line tool that offers natural language support for troubleshooting, configuration, and managing complex environments, using guidance based on Red Hat’s Linux knowledge base.

The update adds support for post-quantum cryptography under Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS), helping protect against future decryption threats. It also introduces image mode, which simplifies deployment using container-based workflows and reduces configuration drift. Unified management now extends across both containerized applications and the underlying operating system using the same tools and practices.

RHEL 10 expands compatibility with major cloud platforms including Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform, and Microsoft Azure, and now supports the RISC-V architecture. Additional improvements include updates to the Security Select Add-On and expands the IT toolkit with partner-validated solutions for enterprise environments.
