PeerTube mobile app reaches v1 and brings multi-account logins, playlist management & more

Framasoft has officially released version 1 of the PeerTube mobile application, marking nearly five months of dedicated development since the initial release. The update makes it possible for users to connect multiple PeerTube accounts within the app, set a default account, and seamlessly access subscriptions, playlists, and viewing history from any connected profile.

The app now supports direct comment creation and deletion, enabling users to engage with videos on the go. Managing your subscriptions is fully supported: you can subscribe to or unsubscribe from channels and oversee all your channel subscriptions directly within the application. A significant addition is full playlist management. Users can watch, edit, create, and delete playlists from their mobile devices. Any playlist changes made on the app are synchronized with the web version of PeerTube when logged in, ensuring a unified experience across platforms.

Beyond these features, the release brings thumbs up/down reactions for videos, two-factor authentication for enhanced account security, and easy access to your recently watched history. Looking ahead, the PeerTube team has announced ongoing development for features like background playback, next video suggestions, and improved notifications, signaling continuous improvements for mobile users.
