Kagi adds PeerTube video search results, enhanced Assistant UI, and translation upgrades

Kagi has rolled out significant updates across its suite of services, enhancing performance and flexibility for users. Kagi Search video results now include PeerTube videos, with an option to filter exclusively for PeerTube sources. Users also gain immediate access to video likes and dislikes directly within search results, bringing richer context to video discovery.

Regarding the AI-powered Kagi Assistant, desktop users can now resize both the primary and secondary sidebars, offering more control over their workspace layout. The Assistant’s mobile experience has also been redesigned for improved usability and navigation, making search tasks smoother on the go. Kagi Assistant further integrates the Lenses feature, allowing users to leverage custom filters directly within the Assistant to tailor their search results.

Kagi Translate introduces a prominent fast/best quality toggle, giving users the option to favor quick processing or maximum translation accuracy. The service expands its language coverage to include a variety of English dialects, Swiss German, and now better supports right-to-left languages in text fields. Additional updates let users import their translation history and select different voices for text-to-speech, rounding out a release focused on personalization and accessibility.

I don't understand how this works because PeerTube videos are by instance not universally accessible as far as I am aware.

As a Kagi user for over a year, I honestly hope that they keep investing into search and not too much into the "Assistant". I do like the baked in assistant into the search itself, being able to summarize per link is great! but the dedicated assistant itself is not what I am paying for and every time I try it, it is worse then the alternatives (Claude, Cgpt,...) directly, funnily also the search in Cgpt works better directly then through Kagi assistant. But the over all search is better in Kagi. So please keep focusing on that!
