Firefox 138 launches with enhanced profile management, better looks on Windows 11 and more

Mozilla has released Firefox 138, bringing several enhancements to profile management, which helps users keep work, school, and personal activities separate. New customization options include naming profiles, assigning avatars, and color themes for quick identification. Bookmarks, tabs, and history remain distinct with each profile, enabling focused browsing. Users in the United States will now see weather suggestions directly in the address bar. Typing a weather-related term or city will display the latest forecast in the dropdown, streamlining access to local conditions.

On Windows 11, Firefox popup menus adopt acrylic styling for a look that better matches the system interface. Autofill has also been improved across all platforms, now filling fields shown dynamically after selecting country or other form triggers. On macOS and Linux, users can now copy links from background tabs using the context menu. Developers will also benefit from support for the import map integrity field, ensuring safer module imports, as well as other improvements.

Android users now have support for TLS client authentication certificates and can directly share files or URLs from the Downloads screen. Lastly, Firefox for iOS expands its password generator to all languages and regions. And as always, this release also includes numerous other enhancements and bug fixes, that are detailed in the release notes.
