Windsurf Wave 4 introduces Previews, Linter integration & new Referral program

Windsurf Editor has released its latest big update, Wave 4, introducing several new features like Previews, Cascade Auto-Linter and a new Referral program. Previews allow developers to iterate on apps by sending elements and console errors back to Cascade for context, eliminating manual steps. The update also brings Tab-to-import, enabling the addition of imports with the "Tab" key when new dependencies are used. Linter integration ensures Cascade checks its outputs against linters, automatically fixing errors without charging flow action credits.

The update enhances user experience with Suggested actions, offering next-step suggestions to maintain workflow continuity. MCP discoverability has been improved, simplifying the identification and integration of useful MCP servers. Drag & drop functionality allows users to attach editor tabs or files from their file explorer to Cascade.

Enterprises can now control model options, specifying which models their organization can use, addressing internal guidelines. Claude 3.7 Sonnet improvements have reduced the model's tendency for aggressive tool calling, optimizing flow action credit usage. Lastly, a new referral program offers rewards for users who invite others to subscribe, providing 500 free flex credits for successful referrals.
