Open source password manager KeePass releases v2.58 with new features and enhancements

KeePass, a lightweight and open source password manager, has launched version 2.58, introducing several enhancements and bug fixes. Notably, when no entry is chosen in the main window's entry list, the details view now shows information about the current group, including name, expiry time, tags, and notes.

The update introduces an option to unhide empty data and displays the average estimated quality of generated passwords on the password generator dialog's preview/generate tab. A user-agent header has been added for HTTP/HTTPS/WebDAV requests, and Microsoft Edge will no longer appear in the URLs' menu if uninstalled.

The release also improves the CodeWallet TXT import module, adds new filters, supports comments in INI files, and provides a workaround for Mono's tree view right-click and context menu handling. Additionally, fatal error messages have been made more detailed when the -debug command line option is used.

In the main window's group tree, clicking on a group now deselects all entries. Icon handling in certain entry lists has been improved, the number of preview passwords has increased to 50, and various user interface and integration enhancements have been included, along with other minor new features and improvements.
