X is blocking Signal domain links in DMs, labeling them as potentially harmful or spam
X has begun blocking links to the Signal.me domain, which is used for sharing contact details on the Signal messaging platform. Users trying to post these links in direct messages, public posts, or on their profiles are encountering error messages warning that the links are “potentially harmful,” “considered malware,” or “might be spam,” depending on the X version.
This blocking was first noticed by security researchers at Mysk and later confirmed by Matt Binder from Disruptionist. While previously posted Signal.me links remain visible, they now come with warnings discouraging users from clicking due to security risks; however, other Signal-related URLs can still be shared on X.
This move comes as the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) intensifies its scrutiny of federal entities, prompting employees to use Signal for secure communication and whistleblowing. Some speculate the block is politically motivated, but X has yet to explain why only Signal.me links are affected.

First Mastodon, then Substack, and now Signal. The ironic part about all this is that Elon Musk claims to desire promoting free speech. However, if you took a minute to read about his true stance on it and how Twitter/X is disallowing the promotion of other social media platforms, you'd be surprised.
Dork Maga soon to proclaim Signal woke to his lemmings
It's disgusting how behind a mascarade of making Twitter/X more respectful of free speech, Elon Musk is closing it's plateform deep in the deepweb. You cannot browse or see a page for more than 2 seconds before a pop up asks you to log in or signing up. Closing its API more and more... I am nostalgic of the open clear web... The proprietary islanded deep web becomes more and more a jail to me. FREE THE BIRD make the Web Great Again. Fuck Web3 enter Web0 !
