Spotify partners with ElevenLabs to launch AI-narrated audiobooks in 29 languages

Spotify has announced a partnership with ElevenLabs to introduce AI-narrated audiobooks on its platform, significantly expanding its audiobook library. ElevenLabs, a prominent AI voice technology provider, enables authors to create audiobooks using AI narration. These audiobooks can then be uploaded to Spotify through Findaway Voices, the platform's audiobook distribution service.

Before being published, all AI-narrated audiobooks must pass a review process. They will be clearly labeled with metadata indicating digital voice narration, and listeners will see a disclaimer in the description stating, "this audiobook is narrated by a digital voice."

This initiative is expected to significantly increase the availability of AI-narrated audiobooks on Spotify, with ElevenLabs offering narration in 29 languages, providing a wide range of audiobook options.
