Amazon is shutting down its communications service Chime, recommends seeking alternatives
Amazon has announced the discontinuation of its communications service, Chime. In a recent blog post, Amazon revealed that support for Amazon Chime, including its business calling features, will end on February 20, 2026. The service ceased accepting new customers on February 19, 2025. Existing users will retain access to Amazon Chime features until the 2026 cutoff, after which hosting meetings, managing users, or utilizing business calling features will no longer be possible.
Amazon advises current customers to delete their data and transition to alternative web meeting services, recommending options such as AWS Wickr, Zoom, or Slack. Business Insider reports that Amazon itself is officially adopting Zoom as its meeting application, replacing Chime.
