WhatsApp launches official Apple Watch app with messaging and voice support

WhatsApp has launched a new app for Apple Watch, letting users read, reply, and manage chats without needing their iPhone. The app brings core messaging functions to the wrist, including full message viewing, voice message recording, and emoji reactions.

It also supports call notifications, so users can see who’s calling at a glance, along with a clearer media experience that displays images and stickers directly on the watch. Chat history is available too, allowing users to scroll through more of their recent messages.

All conversations and calls remain protected with end-to-end encryption. The app requires Apple Watch Series 4 or newer running watchOS 10, and Meta confirmed that more features will be added in future updates.
