Umami v3 rolls out with updated UI, improved filters, tracking links & pixels, and more

Modern analytics platform Umami v3 delivers a major redesign with a user-friendly interface, offering streamlined navigation, enhanced data visibility, and quicker access to website content. Users can now switch easily between websites using an embedded dropdown, while previous reports are separated out onto individual, accessible pages.

Following these UI updates, the release introduces universal filters that operate via query strings. This change enables users to share filtered views simply by copying the page URL, improving team collaboration. Filter forms now allow for multiple filters to be added or edited at once. Building on these enhancements, Umami v3 adds support for segments and cohorts. Segments let you save sets of filters for later reuse, while cohorts provide tracking for groups of users sharing defined experiences over specific periods.

Tracking tools also expand with the addition of links and pixels, both featuring dedicated statistics pages. Links are short URLs for monitoring clicks or downloads, and pixels are invisible images that can track visits or email opens. For admin workflows, a new dedicated admin page lets administrators manage users, websites, and teams directly.

Finally, Umami v3 discontinues MySQL support, requiring PostgreSQL as the sole backend database going forward.
