Raspberry Pi Imager 2.0 makes it easier to install Raspberry Pi OS on bootable media
Raspberry Pi Imager 2.0 introduces a newly redesigned step-by-step wizard interface, transforming how users create images and customize operating systems for their Raspberry Pi devices. Each configuration stage now occupies the entire window and provides detailed descriptions, validation feedback, and relevant links. This approach allows easier navigation and ensures users have clear guidance at every stage.
Building on this interface overhaul, the updated application lets users authenticate with Raspberry Pi Connect during the SD card imaging process. This means when the Raspberry Pi boots for the first time, remote screen sharing or shell access via Raspberry Pi Connect are enabled automatically, eliminating post-setup configuration.
Following these updates, Raspberry Pi Imager 2.0 brings enhanced accessibility. Each control is labeled for screen readers, the entire application works seamlessly with keyboard navigation, and a new Raspberry red color scheme improves clarity. Additionally, generous use of white space helps users visually distinguish interface elements quickly. The update is now available for Raspberry Pi OS, Windows, macOS, and as a portable Linux AppImage.
