PicView 4.0 launches with updated zoom, image search, navigation & print preview features
PicView 4.0 brings a rebuilt zoom system with a preview window that shows the full image while zoomed in and allows panning. Users can now search for images within the current directory using Ctrl + F, and the new interactive progress bar displays the position in a folder and allows navigation by clicking or dragging. Zoom animations and percentage pop-ups can be toggled, and file deletion behavior is now user-selectable.
The Batch Resize tool has been redesigned with resizable windows and support for adding files or folders. The Image Information window now lets users edit EXIF “Date Taken” values and other timestamps using a calendar or analog clock interface. Right-click actions have been expanded with quick access to search and advanced jump options, while a Hover Navigation Toolbar appears automatically in full-screen or when the main toolbar is hidden. Its visibility can be managed in the new Interface Configuration tab.
Performance improvements include faster image preloading, reduced memory use, and better cleanup of unused files. Stability has been strengthened with improved error handling and crash protection. Windows gains a new Print Preview window with printer selection and accurate output, while macOS receives a reorganized menu and corrected Light theme text in the “Open with” view.
