Figma acquires AI content platform Weavy, launching node-based image & video editing tool
Figma has acquired Weavy.ai, an AI-powered platform built around a node-based system for media generation and editing. The platform will be rebranded as Figma Weave and integrated into Figma’s ecosystem to introduce AI-driven image and video creation tools. For now, Figma confirmed that Weavy will continue operating independently before its full transition under the Figma Weave brand.
Weavy uses a node based workflow that connects multiple AI models and editing tools in one unified canvas, allowing creators to build and adjust complex processes without switching apps. With this setup, they can branch prompts, compare model outputs, and refine results in real time. Editing remains fully interactive, with controls for layers, lighting, color, and camera adjustments that work seamlessly across image and video generation. Creators can begin with a simple text prompt, select their preferred models, fine tune the results, and extend them naturally into motion.
The platform supports combining prompts, models, and edits for targeted creative results, using models like Seedance, Sora, and Google Veo for video, and FLUX.2, Ideogram, Nano Banana, and Seedream for images. The acquisition reflects Figma’s broader expansion into AI-driven design workflows, aligning with the growing trend of node-based content generation and research tools seen in platforms like FLORA, or the most recent tool by Runway.
