Apple Music to add support for offline lyrics and WhatsApp song sharing soon

Apple is adding offline lyrics support to Apple Music with the upcoming iOS 26.2 update. Users will now be able to view synced lyrics without Wi-Fi or cellular data, fixing a long-standing limitation that required an internet connection even for downloaded songs. The update aims to improve playback experiences for users in low-connectivity environments.

The update also introduces a new WhatsApp integration that lets users share songs or selected lyric snippets directly to their WhatsApp Status via the “Share Lyrics” option. Shared posts include album artwork, the song’s title and artist, and the chosen lyrics, offering a more polished visual than before.

Currently, the option to share entire songs appears limited, suggesting Apple is still refining the feature before release. Both offline lyrics and WhatsApp sharing are expected to roll out publicly with iOS 26.2 after beta testing.
