Amazon integrates Alexa+ AI into Amazon Music with conversational search

Amazon has launched its upgraded version of its AI assistant Alexa+ in the Amazon Music app for iOS and Android, available to members of the Alexa+ Early Access program. This integration allows users to search for music using natural, conversational queries and follow-up questions.

Alexa+ lets users search by era, mood, or instrument and filter out specific artists or genres while also creating playlists based on moods, decades, or user-defined themes, handling requests like “a running playlist with 2000s tracks starting with Beyoncé,” recognizing songs from partial details such as lyrics or TV show mentions, and offering insights like chart performance, festival appearances, and the stories behind the lyrics.

Originally introduced earlier this year as part of Amazon’s broader AI expansion, Alexa+ is accessed through a new “A” button in the app’s corner and is currently in Early Access across all Amazon Music tiers, with plans to become free for Amazon Prime members once fully released and available to non-Prime users through a standalone subscription priced at $20 per month.
