Sketch launches new beta with redesigned UI, rebuilt Inspector & improved layer management
Sketch has launched the beta of its upcoming “Copenhagen” big update, introducing a major redesign for macOS Tahoe and significant interface changes. The new interface introduces over 600 redrawn icons, a refreshed contextual toolbar, and subtle Liquid Glass effects that align with Apple’s latest design language.
The update also brings a rebuilt Inspector with movable panels, refined sliders and inputs, and a dedicated prototyping panel for better workflow. The Layer List adds a Focus Mode that highlights only selected layers, siblings, and parent containers, making complex files easier to organize. Stack layouts can now wrap automatically when content exceeds container size, and new background removal tools use Apple’s on-device machine learning to isolate subjects or people directly within the app.
Other improvements include a “Size to Fill” action for resizing layers to fit containers, faster document loading, and more accurate rendering. CSS export produces cleaner code, and interface updates add 90º rotation buttons, new Layer List filters, and remembered corner styles. The update also removes Touch Bar support and introduces clearer symbol management options. Additional refinements, such as renamed effects, shortcut updates, and minor menu changes, are detailed in the official changelog.
