GIMP 3.0.6 improves theme integration, filter workflows, and file support
GIMP 3.0.6 is now available for Linux, macOS, and Windows, bringing interface, performance, and compatibility improvements to the open-source image editor. The update adds a new option in the Brushes and Fonts dialogs to match previews with the color theme, along with zoomable grid and list views and a refined zoom algorithm for smoother navigation.
Editing workflows are enhanced with non-destructive filters that can be applied directly on channels, automatic disabling of unavailable filters, and better undo tracking for Lock Content actions. Image resizing now works independently of selections, Adobe Photoshop brush compatibility is improved, and the palette import feature gains alpha value support and better handling of Lab and CMYK ACB palettes with clearer file filtering.
Import and export capabilities are expanded with improved handling for formats like JPEG 2000, TIFF, DDS, SVG, and others, plus bug fixes affecting mask creation, color editing, and multi-layer transformations.
