Anthropic adds Excel Integration, Finance Connectors, and Agent Skills to Claude

Anthropic’s latest release introduces a direct integration between Claude and Microsoft Excel, enabling users to analyze spreadsheet data, clean or modify cells, and generate new spreadsheets within a dedicated sidebar interface. This real-time feature is available in preview for paid Max, Enterprise, and Teams users and expands Anthropic’s ongoing partnership with Microsoft, following Claude’s integration into Microsoft 365 and Copilot.

In addition to Excel integration, Claude now connects with seven external platforms for live financial data access. Users can pull information from Aiera for earnings transcripts, MT Newswires for breaking financial news, Moody’s for credit data, and the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) for market information. Additional connectors include Egnyte for secure document management, Chronograph for portfolio monitoring, and Third Bridge for investment research, accessed via Aiera. Each connector is now available for Claude users and offers direct access to real-time data.

The company has also rolled out six finance-focused Agent Skills. These preset behaviors support workflows like earnings report analysis, discounted cash flow modeling, comparable company analysis, data room processing, company profile creation, and performance summary generation. The new Skills are currently in research preview for users on the Max, Enterprise, and Teams tiers.
