1Password updates iOS & Android apps with faster autofill & item creation features
1Password has announced updates to its iOS 18 and Android mobile apps, focusing on item creation and autofill functionalities. The autofill feature is now integrated within the iOS contextual menu, allowing users to fill in logins, credit card details, and identity information without leaving their current screen.
Additionally, the search bar has been repositioned to the top of the app for quicker access, and the item creation process has been streamlined, enabling users to add new items up to eight times faster with fewer interactions. Login items now automatically suggest usernames and passwords, simplifying the process of saving new logins.
The updates also include automatic saving and updating of two-factor authentication codes, reducing manual input. Users with Watchtower enabled will receive real-time notifications of password breaches for swift action on security vulnerabilities. On desktops, the 1Password Safari browser extension now supports unlocking via Touch ID, eliminating the need for the desktop app for biometric access. Furthermore, the password generator now supports multiple languages, such as French, Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese, and Dutch.
