Retrospring to shut down on March 1, 2025, after nearly a decade of service
Retrospring, the social Q&A platform, will shut down on March 1, 2025, after nearly a decade of operation. The platform has been difficult to maintain due to increasing user numbers and quality issues, and the founders have decided against transferring ownership to ensure user data privacy and security. New user registrations will close on October 1, 2024, and the site will continue to operate until March 1, 2025.
Users will be able to export their profile information before the shutdown, with the final data export method available until September 1, 2025. Although feature requests are no longer accepted, bug reports will still be addressed until the service ends.
Retrospring’s social media accounts will remain active until September 1, 2025, for ongoing communication, and the GitHub repository for the platform's open-source code will remain available indefinitely. Users seeking alternative Q&A platforms can consider Ask.fm, Zaqa, NGL: Anonymous Q&A, Tellonym or Whispa
