Reeder launches new major version with unified RSS, video, podcasts, and social feeds
Reeder, the widely-used RSS reader for iOS and macOS, has launched a major new version that integrates RSS with video, audio, and social feeds. This update introduces an inbox for consuming content from various sources, including videos, podcasts, and social media posts, all within a unified timeline. While not intended to replace full-featured clients, Reeder offers a centralized way to manage all the content you follow.
The new version also includes a share extension for saving links directly to Reeder. Unread counts have been eliminated, with your timeline position now synced across all devices, allowing seamless continuation from where you left off. Additionally, any tag can be turned into a public feed, which updates automatically and can be viewed in any browser or added to any RSS reader supporting JSON feeds.
Reeder syncs essential elements like subscriptions, timeline position, and tagged items (links, favorites, bookmarks, and later) across devices using iCloud. This focus ensures faster and more efficient syncing, with changes pushed within seconds. Content is fetched directly from sources, keeping your updates current and organized.
