Microsoft Expands its Windows App to Mac, iOS & Android for remote cloud access to Windows

Microsoft has expanded its Windows App to all major platforms, now available on macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and Android (in public preview), in addition to Windows PCs since its launch in November 2023. The app serves as a central hub for streaming a copy of Windows from sources like Windows 365, Azure Virtual Desktop, and Remote Desktop. After a year of testing, it now includes a customizable home screen for a personalized user experience.

Key features of the app include multi-monitor support and USB redirection, allowing local devices like webcams, storage devices, and printers to function as if directly connected to the cloud PC. Designed for Microsoft work and school accounts, the app aims to ease the transition for existing Microsoft Remote Desktop client users.

This app is particularly useful for connecting to work PCs from personal devices, enhancing remote work capabilities. Currently, there are no plans to support consumer accounts, as the focus remains on enterprise users.

Once again an app that has more functionality on all platforms other than windows. Plus you can't use it with a personal account. This looks like a marketing gimmick
