Umami released v2.13 with new Events and Session screens for enhanced visitor insights

umami has released version 2.13, featuring significant updates with new Events and Sessions screens designed to offer deeper insights into visitor activity and custom session data. The revamped Events screen now centralizes all information related to custom events and data, moving the events chart and metrics table from the overview screen for a more integrated user experience.

The new Events table displays detailed event activity, identifying which visitors performed specific actions, with unique avatars representing each visitor. Users can access custom data under the Properties tab on the Events screen, offering a detailed breakdown of all saved custom data properties and values. The old event data screen has been deprecated, with its functionality now fully integrated into the new Events screen.

The Sessions screen introduces detailed insights into visitor sessions, featuring a new hourly traffic breakdown component to highlight peak visitor activity times. Users can now click on a visitor's avatar in the activity table to access a dedicated page with comprehensive activity history. Additionally, support for saving session data has been added, enabling users to capture session-specific information via the tracker script’s identity function. This saved session data is accessible under the Properties tab on the new session profile page.
