Tails 6.6 released with updated Tor browser and Thunderbird, and enhanced hardware support
Linux Tails has released version 6.6, bringing several improvements and bug fixes to its privacy-focused operating system. The update includes Tor Browser 13.5.2 and Thunderbird 115.14.0, enhancing security and performance for users.
Significant improvements have been made to firmware packages, boosting support for newer hardware, including graphics and Wi-Fi components. Notably, Tails 6.6 now detects new types of errors when resizing the system partition fails during the first startup, displaying a specific error message. Users encountering this issue are advised to reinstall Tails or use a different USB stick.
The release also addresses various issues related to persistent storage, networking, and the Tails cloner, ensuring a more stable and reliable user experience.
