MacWhisper latest update brings auto-translate transcripts with DeepL API

The latest version of MacWhisper introduces automatic translation of transcripts into multiple languages, leveraging the DeepL Translator API. This new feature allows users to translate entire transcripts with just one click, significantly improving efficiency.

Previously, MacWhisper integrated the GPT-4o model, allowing for extended summaries with support for up to 16,000 output tokens. Other recent updates include the ability to export Markdown files, support for BBEdit 14, and a new dictation feature. The app uses OpenAI’s Whisper technology to process audio files locally on the Mac, ensuring privacy and supporting various file formats such as MP3, WAV, M4A, and MP4 videos.

MacWhisper is particularly advantageous for transcribing meetings, lectures, and other important audio recordings, with all processing done entirely on the user’s device to maintain privacy.
