GitLab 17.3 released with AI Root Cause Analysism, Health check for GitLab Duo and more

GitLab has released version 17.3, introducing several enhancements focused on CI/CD workflows and AI-driven functionalities. A key feature is the general availability of Root Cause Analysis, an AI tool that examines failed CI/CD job logs, identifies root causes, and suggests fixes, thereby streamlining troubleshooting processes.

Additional updates include the beta release of GitLab Duo Health Check, which aids in troubleshooting GitLab Duo setups in self-managed instances. Users can now manage Kubernetes pods directly from the GitLab UI, simplifying tasks like pod deletion and restarts. The release also makes connecting to Kubernetes clusters easier by offering connect commands directly from the GitLab UI.

The update enhances AI-powered vulnerability resolution with specific code suggestions and one-click merge requests for supported CWE identifiers. Users can apply multiple compliance frameworks to a single project, improving compliance oversight. New AI Impact Analytics metrics, such as Code Suggestions acceptance rate and GitLab Duo seats usage, have been introduced, along with new overview tiles in the Value Streams Dashboard for better visibility of AI feature metrics. For more details, refer to the official changelog.
