WhatsApp introduces favorites filter for quick access to important contacts & groups

WhatsApp is rolling out a new filter for "Favorites" contacts, providing quick access to important users and groups. This feature will be available to all users over the next few weeks.

The "Favorites" filter allows users to consolidate chats from key individuals or groups into a single section within the chats screen. Additionally, a dedicated "Favorites" section in the calls tab facilitates instant dialing of preferred contacts without navigating through recent call logs or the contacts list.

To add a contact or group to the favorites list, users can select the "Favorites" filter on the chats screen or use the "Add favorite" option within the calls tab. Alternatively, long-tapping on a chat and selecting "Add to favorite" will include it in the favorites list directly. Management of favorite contacts and groups is streamlined through the settings menu, accessible via Settings Favorites Add to Favorite, where users can manage and reorder their preferred contacts and groups.
