Visual Studio Code 1.91 has been released with new features and improved GitHub Copilot

The popular code editor Visual Studio Code has just released its version 1.91 for the month of June, introducing several new features and enhancements.

Key highlights include a preview of the incoming/outgoing changes graph, allowing users to visualize changes in the source control view. The update enhances Python environments with improved environment discovery via python-environment-tools. Additionally, the Smart Send feature now enables smoother execution of code chunks in the native REPL.

The update also brings GitHub Copilot extensibility, offering chat and language model APIs in the Visual Studio Code stable release. A preview of the profiles editor is included, enabling users to manage their profiles in one place. Custom tab labels now support more variable options and multiple extensions.

TypeScript 5.5 integration introduces syntax checking for regular expressions and other language features. Lastly, the JavaScript debugger now allows inspection of shadowed variables during debugging sessions. Visual Studio Code 1.91 also includes accessibility improvements, as well as other enhancements and bug fixes.
