PeerTube 6.2 has been released with enhanced moderation options and AI-powered subtitles
PeerTube, the open-source and decentralized video sharing platform, has released its version 6.2, introducing several enhancements aimed at improving user experience and content management. Key features include streamlined moderation, enhanced subtitle creation, and better video highlighting.
Moderation has been simplified with a new page that lists all comments on your videos, allowing manual approval. Additionally, users can create word lists to automatically flag comments for review, a feature extended to instance administrators for better compliance monitoring.
PeerTube 6.2 also integrates automatic video transcription using Whisper, an AI tool that generates accurate subtitles. This functionality can be customized and enabled by administrators to automatically produce subtitles for new videos.
Thumbnail previews can now be created directly from video images, offering a more straightforward method for visual representation. Live broadcasts receive more visibility, being highlighted on Recently Added, Trending, Account videos, and Channel videos pages.
As with every update, PeerTube 6.2 also includes numerous bug fixes, improvements, and other changes to enhance the overall performance.
These 3 make a lot of sense and I'm gonna check back on the thingie! Would've dropped YT long time ago with their crap recently, alas most good creators are not on any different, or/and remotely similar platforms - understandable but damn...
Nice to see PeerTube making positive steps. Now, it's just a matter of increasing the server space, which is not easy, of course.
