Ink/Stitch 3.1.0 beta: New fonts, extensions, and enhanced features for embroidery design
Ink/Stitch, the open-source embroidery design platform built on Inkscape, has rolled out its version 3.1.0 beta, introducing a range of new features and improvements. This update includes 16 new fonts, with enhanced stability and additional accentuated glyphs across most fonts.
New extensions in this release cover a variety of functionalities. The Apply Palette extension matches colors from a specified thread palette to a design, while Display Stacking Order inserts numbered labels to visualize stitch order. Element Info provides details on selected stitch elements, and Font Sampling generates a list of all letters in a font. Generate Test Swatches from Selection allows for easy testing of embroidery parameters, and Jump Stitch to Trim Command inserts trim commands to avoid jump stitches. Other extensions include Multicolor Satin, Outline, Redwork, Tartan, and Unlink Clone, each adding specific capabilities to the software.
Existing extensions have been updated, and all now feature a help tab linking to Ink/Stitch's website for detailed information. The update also introduces new color palettes, improved stitch types, enhanced export options, and various other enhancements and bug fixes.
Ink/Stitch 3.1.0 beta is available for Linux, Windows (both 32-bit and 64-bit), and macOS (ARM version, eliminating the need for Rosetta).
