Forgejo brings federated repository stars, support for Redis alternatives, and F3 support
Forgejo, a self-hosted and lightweight software forge, has released its June update, introducing several notable improvements. The update enhances user experience with better logic for displaying user feeds and public activity elements. Repository search results can now be folded for easier navigation, and the issue editor supports tab indentation and list continuation.
A significant addition is the federation of repository stars via ActivityPub, aligning Forgejo with other Fediverse services like Mastodon, PeerTube, and PixelFed. The update also extends support to Redis alternatives such as Redict and Garnet, offering more flexibility in deployment.
Furthermore, Forgejo has implemented the initial driver for the Friendly Forge Format (F3). This feature aims to improve data portability and facilitate the mirroring of software projects across different forges using a standardized format.
