Zabbix 7.0 LTS released with synthetic end-user web monitoring, Zabbix proxy, MFA and more

Zabbix has unveiled its latest release, 7.0 LTS, bringing a host of new features and improvements to its open-source IT infrastructure monitoring tool. This version introduces synthetic end-user web monitoring, allowing flexible multistep browser-based scenarios for website and web application monitoring.

Key enhancements include Zabbix proxy high availability and load balancing, ensuring 100% availability with automatic proxy load balancing and in-memory data storage for metrics. Performance and scalability see a boost with the replacement of synchronous pollers by asynchronous ones, and centralized control of data collection timeouts enhances support for longer interval metrics and custom checks.

New dashboard widgets provide a comprehensive overview of monitored metrics and infrastructure, while parallelization support in network discovery significantly speeds up host and service discovery. A new communication framework for dashboard widgets enables inter-widget communication, and out-of-the-box multi-factor authentication (MFA) support offers enterprise-grade security.

Low-level discovery improvements enhance host configuration and management in complex environments, such as VMware and Kubernetes. The release also includes new templates and webhooks for popular vendors and cloud providers, making Zabbix 7.0 LTS a robust update for IT infrastructure monitoring.
